Louis Vuitton × Murakami presents a colorful and vibrant re-edition collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Maison’s creative collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. This striking collection, featuring over 200 pieces ranging from bags and shoes to perfumes and sunglasses, highlights Louis Vuitton’s commitment to creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship, paired with Murakami’s imaginative, colorful world.

The campaign, which honors this enduring partnership, stars American actress, singer, and Louis Vuitton ambassador Zendaya. Zendaya perfectly embodies the modern energy and creative spirit of the collaboration, striking poses in pieces from the collection while interacting with Murakami’s playful, fantastical artworks, specially created for this reissue. The campaign visuals are set against epic cityscapes, bringing the collection to life.

In the campaign’s layered collages, Murakami’s iconic “Superflat Garden” floral motifs and his cheerful “Superflat” and “Superflat Panda” characters blend seamlessly with Zendaya’s presence in captivating locations—from city skylines to amusement park roller coasters, from historic bridges to lush parks. Murakami’s flowers spill out of the frames, and his characters playfully interact with Louis Vuitton’s logo, adding a dynamic twist to the Maison’s signature.

Accompanying the visuals are two short films. The first shows Takashi Murakami sending an early-2000s flip phone from his home in Tokyo to New York. When Zendaya opens the phone, the reissue characters spill out. The second video features Zendaya dancing with the “Superflat Garden” flowers, along with the “Superflat” and “Superflat Panda” characters, bringing the campaign’s energetic spirit to life.

Throughout the campaign, Zendaya showcases key pieces from the Louis Vuitton × Murakami re-edition collection, including reinterpreted Louis Vuitton classics such as the All In BB, Speedy 25, OnTheGo, Keepall, and Capucines Mini bags, along with dynamic designs like Monogram Mules shoes, Bandeau silk scarves, and Maison leather belts.

This campaign celebrates the timeless artistry of the Louis Vuitton × Murakami collaboration, reinforcing its pioneering place in 21st-century fashion, popular culture, and the collection’s DNA.

The global launch of the Louis Vuitton × Murakami campaign will take place on January 1, 2025, with the first installment of the re-edition collection available in stores from the same day.
